So sorry to hear that Matt Fisher has had to hang up his boots. He has always given a 100% performance for the club and will be missed.

All the very best Fish.

Absolutely. A titan in the centre of the park, and likely to be a huge loss.

Incidentally, a top bloke off the pitch too, and I'm sure he, and his family, will be made welcome at CP if they should ever come back to visit. Which I sincerely hope they do.

Will be very much missed - a feisty competitor who you always want on your side. All the best for the future Fish.

Its sad that Matt has retired, when it came to football he wore his heart on his sleeve and he has always given 100% for Retford. Its for this effort i would like to say a huge thank you Matt.

Cheers and all the best for the future.

This is indeed very sad news to read, but better to know when to quit than take the risk of further serious injury, and I'm sure that Matt will be gutted about it too.

As has been said already, a guy who Duffs could depend on for total commitment to the Team and that steely eyed determination has driven fear into many an opposition midfield.

A true Gent off the pitch too, with a great family who will all be missed around the place, but who will all hopefully find the time to come along to watch The Badgers in the not too distant future.

All the best and Good Luck for the future Matt, and for all your family too, you will all be missed.

Best Regards from all at the Forest household,

Phil, Della & Emma

Absolutely gutted to hear this. Matt " The machine" Fisher truly did give 100%, 100% of his time on the pitch, this has all been said but a big loss and will be missed!
All the best Matt. :'(

I'd just like to thank you all for your messages, it means alot.

I can honestly say that my last two seasons at RUFC have been the most enjoyable of my career. I ve had the pleasure of being part of great team with great lads.

The fans are different class particularly Phil, Della, Emma, Barney (even with his poor half time banter) Carl etc... So a big thank you to you for all for your support and making my family feel so welcome.

I would just like to wish you all the very best for the season and I will see you soon.

Fish

P.S Uncle, I m not as stupid as I look!!

Carla has obviously done it for you......

I'm sure you will be missed Mathew but a back injury was inevitable as you have been towing a caravan for the last 18 months ;D ;D ;D
